Dolmen of Viera

Antequera, AL, Spain
2 Kudos
This dolmen is smaller (I believe), newer and not as well preserved as the Menga Dolmen. So why should one visit this one? Because it is still over 5000 years old and happens to be only about 20 meters out of the way as you are walking to the menga from the visitor's center. I believe the orientation of this dolmen is more standard from ones in Spain and is oriented so that sun comes right in at dawn on the summer solstice. Even though not quite as impressive as the menga it is still one of the most impressive in Europe, so not bad.
