Destination: San Juan Cemetery

San Juan, San Juan, Puerto Rico
5 Kudos
My friends and I saved a day to tour the entire Old San Juan District! It's colorful and filled with so much historical attractions. One of the stops we made is the cemetery located in this city; also known as Santa Maria Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery! The cemetery is located outside one of the forts and it is built to overlook the Atlantic Ocean. It is also where a lot of Puerto Rico's famous natives are buried.

The Santa Maria de Pazzis cemetery is one of the cemeteries that has something eerily beautiful to them. Maybe it's because it's so close to the water and it's in a part of the city that locals often visit specially on the weekends.

After we made a really quick stop here we ventured out to the forts! There is a complimentary trolley that takes tourists to different stops around Old San Juan!

Enterprise Car Rental
This is located right below the Condado Hotel. We decided to rent a car here in order to explore the sights far from Condado. The service was slow. To be honest there was really no sense of urgency from the staff. We waited almost an hour for our rental and there were only two people ahead of us. Our plans had to be pushed back for sure. The same situation happened upon returning the vehicle... long wait and the power went off in the office.

Culture and experiences

Cementerio Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis
San Juan's cemetery where some of Puerto Rico's famous and notable natives are buried. It is built overlooking the Atlantic Ocean!

The Condado Plaza Hilton
Very nice hotel and it is not too far from Old San Juan! Make sure to plan accordingly as traffic can be bad heading that direction. This is also a very beautiful property facing the Atlantic Ocean.

Condado is a pretty nice area of San Juan. There are some nice hotels, shopping districts, and restaurants that are worth trying!

Check out the different forts of the city. Take the trolley to avoid walking long distance. It's worth it.
Old San Juan
The Old San Juan district is a popular destination in Puerto Rico. The forts are the main attractions! Locals and foreign tourists love coming here specially on the weekends so come early! We went here around noon and it was pretty bad traffic and parking!
