This beach is an absolute California gem! I've gone to different parts of the Davenport beach, one of my favorite places would have to be Shark Fin Cove! It's the perfect little cove not too far (about 2-3 hours) from Sacramento (where I currently live).
There is local parking, although there isn't too much parking, you will never have trouble finding any because so few people know about this place.
It's a short walk from the parking lot to the actual cove itself, and you'll pass an old railroad track as well (which makes for some amazing photos). Not to mention, this place IS the coast of Cali, which means that it fogs up so beautifully. The scenery is absolutely enchanting!
I came here with my niece, Jessica, on one of my days off and I didn't regret it one bit. Santa Cruz is a near by if you still need something to do afterwards. Jess and I came early in the morning, spent a couple of hours taking photos and then drove to Santa Cruz where we stole some WIFI from a local cafe to edit the photos.
Long story short, I ended up making a few trips back to this place with a few other friends. The photos were breathtaking!
