Cutting out the roads. A significant part of the opening and ending of the Annapurna circuit are now taken over by roads. And the roads themselves are often I the same places a small mule trail used to be. It detracts from the ambiance of the area but it is fascinating to see how people cut out a path for industry. Some of the roads out here are a wonder they stay up, and often times they do not. As treacherous as this path appears, this is actually sturdy ground so its worth the effort of building out of solid rock.
