Cruise the Kazinga Channel

Kichwamba, Western Region, Uganda

Flag
The Kazinga Channel is a 20-mile long, quarter-mile wide body of water connecting Lakes George and Edward in western Uganda. We went for a boat ride along it to get a chance to see lots of animals and birds along the shore. Our family of four had a private motor boat to explore the waterway. We had barely begun before we saw our first hippos of the trip, as well as a family of elephants down for a drink. We saw a lot more of both as we cruised along both sides of the channel, and other things like crocodiles. We also got to see a great variety of beautiful birds, and it was very nice just being on the water at the end of the day.
