Cramped modern hotel - Tokyo, Japan

After our day trip in Kyoto we headed to Tokyo via a Shinkansen Hikari (unreserved) bullet train ride that took a little over 2.5hrs to arrive.

Once in Tokyo we stayed at Hotel Metropolitan Edmont Tokyo in Chiyoda City, a ward in central Tokyo. We chose it for its location, modern interior, and free shuttle to and from Tokyo Disney.

Like most hotels in Japan it was pretty cramped. There was very little room to walk with a full sized bed against the wall and two carry-on bags laying in the middle of the one path from the bed to the bathroom to the door. I also remember not getting any other English-speaking channels except CNN. It’s a surreal feeling looking out at the city skyline, snacking on some Japanese treats from Lawson’s and watching American news on an American channel in a completely foreign country.
