After our four hour bus trip from Miami Beach to Key West it was lunch time. Priority number 1 find one of the restaurants that I had researched or learned about from others. Bingo! We found The Conch Republic Seafood Company which overlooks the marina. This is one of the places I read about and it had high ratings. My mind was set on trying conch fritters for the first time. We ate inside out of the sun but it was a semi open-air restaurant so we enjoyed sights and sounds of the marina. I ordered conch chowder for me and the four of us split an order of conch fritters and fried calamari. The flavor of the conch chowder was different than I had experienced but it was vary flavorful. The fritters came with a very nice key lime mustard sauce and I used that with my calamari also. My wife had a fish sandwich with the catch of the day and it was very good. The servers were very friendly and fast. This was a good choice for lunch, but a tad bit pricey.
