While wandering around the upper town on the island of Capri, called Anacapri, we followed a small map (Anacapri is not a large place) to check out the interesting sights to see. Following the pedestrian pathway, we reached the Piazza of Anacapri where the Church of Santa Sofia was located. It is supposedly Anacapri’s most important church, built in the 16th century. We have been in many churches in Europe and some of them were extremely ornate, which was beautiful of course. But there is a different type of beauty in a more simple, less elaborate church, which this one in Anacapri was.
