Chicago has a diverse mix of neighborhoods that love to throw street festivals. The Lakeview neighborhood's Northalsted Market Days is one of the most popular, drawing more than 150,000 (mostly LGBT) visitors for a mix of street vendors, concert stages, dance clubs, and fantastic people-watching.
Throughout the day, people wander Halsted Street purchasing items (or taking samples) from vendor booths, purchasing beer and specialty drinks to carry on the street, and listening to performers on one of three stages. (In 2014, headline acts were Belinda Carlisle, Deborah Cox, and Neon Trees.) At nights, expect long lines and packed dance floors at popular clubs like Sidetrack, Roscoe's, and Scarlet.
