I have to be honest, when we wandered into this place we didn’t know it was a cemetery. I love cemeteries and seeing different ones in different countries. This place we just happened upon when taking a walk one day, it truly is magnificent to see. The different stupas are a sight, different colors, golds are reds mostly, and sizes adorne the paths. When we went it seemed like it was being well taken care of. Keep in mind that this is an active temple and place of worship, which leads me to the unfortunate part of this visit. The one bad thing that we unfortunately witnessed was a small boy beating a dog at the encouragement of 2 monks, that really hurt to watch, and I don’t fully understand what was happening, but it was awful. It’s hard to turn a blind eye when something so awful it happening, and I would have liked to have taken the switch and given that child a few firm blows, as well as the fallen monks who were allowing it. But I we had to walk away, as I quickly got super worked up. I wonder if anyone else has been in a similar situation when traveling? What did you do?
