While driving across West Texas on I-10, you would have no idea of the sheer beauty that lies beneath your feet. Yes, there are billboards that will point you to Caverns of Sonora, but this is a place that you truly have to experience in person.
I have been through many show caves in my life, but Caverns of Sonora is among the very best. It has an incredible number of stalactites, stalagmites, and many other types of cave formations. In fact, the tour guides will be able to point out a diversity of cave features and explain how they formed.
One of the highlights of this cave is the fact that it is a very wet cave. This is surprising given the dry climate of West Texas. Yet, this cave has numerous pools of water, some of which have an interesting blue color. I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the cave, and I am sure you will as well.
