Bull Temples

Nimbapura, KA, India
7 Kudos
Bull Temples. In almost every culture that grew up with cattle, there is some sort of god associated with the bull or the hefer, usually related to something they provide to the people or the usual default, fertility. Outside Hampi, a few of these statues still survive and even a couple of temples dedicated specifically to cows can be found. The largest one is actually the easiest to find as it sits at the bottom of the hill outside of town, beyond the bus stop, at the end of a long promenade of stone archways and a line of palm trees.
