We arrived in Bruges after an hour long train ride from Brussels. It was very easy and we took the bus to the markt, the historic town center. We walked around the area and saw the burg with the stadhuis (town hall) and we walked down to the Begijnhof, which was once home to a 13th century religious community of unmarried or widowed women known as Begenjnen. We ducked into the church for a little to escape the rain and found some present-day nuns. From there we spent the next few hours wondering around the streets and shops of Bruges. Lots of chocolateries, lace shops and beer.
