Bright Lights United Tour with the News Boys!

Wisconsin Dells, WI, United States

My friend and I went to see Mike and Peter from the News Boys for a few hours who had come to Wisconsin Dells touring for their United we stand performance in the bright lights at the amphitheater while combining there performance with other featured artists. We attended this event together and we got to listen to one of their awesome shows at the Crystal Grand Music Theater. If you're coming to the Dells for an event, just know this theater is the biggest amphitheater in Wisconsin Dells. You can choose to go to the standing floor at the front at the stage area to see the boys close up for about $25 or you can pay about $75 and to go to the balcony floors. For some, one of the highlights of the performance was to get VIP Backstage pass to talk to the band members in person for about $100. Even though I'm definitely not a fan of standing on the floor in a room full of people, we only paid for tickets to go to the standing floor. Looking back, I wish we would have done the more pricey option. You get featured autographs and photographs on the more expensive VIP pass one too.

Culture and experiences

Wisconsin Dells
Wisconsin Dells is the Water park Capital of the World! It's located in the central section of Wisconsin and it's easily accessible for everyone. It brings in tourist from around the world and holds many events and festivals. It has a ton of Water parks to choose from. This place gets really crowded during the summer season, so if you're like me, plan your visits during the off season. Also traffic congestion starts to back up about 20 miles north of Madison heading north to get from Madison to the Dells. Be prepared for traffic jams, car accidents and get comfortable in your car. Allow an extra hour to finally reach your destination.

Hotels

Wilderness Resort
If you're looking for a budget friendly place to stay and play, Wilderness Lodge and Resort is a great option for you. The hotel stay offers a variety of lodging experiences to include standard hotel rooms and it also features condos and cabins. If you choose a condo, be sure to choose one close to the water parks. The resort is huge!
Glacier Canyon Lodge
Glacier Canyon Lodge is located right off the main exit. It's easily accessible and it has 5 water parks on the property. The outdoor water parks close for the season but the indoor parks are open all year long. This hotel is definitely underrated. It has two different options to choose during your stay. You can stay in the hotel at the Wilderness, stay in Cabins by the lake, stay in condos or stay in Glacier Canyon Lodge. I always chose the latter. Great place for kids of all ages and adults too! If you want to visit, I always make my reservations online with Ebay. It's a time share property and the best in all of the Dells. I book our rooms through an online travel agent and am completely satisfied with my transactions. The lodge is beautiful inside and out and it has a wilderness theme throughout the resort. You can choose anywhere from a one bedroom to a four bedroom. Definitely recommend staying here.

Points of interest

Wisconsin Dells
If you want to go to Wisconsin Dells, it is located about 45 minutes from Madison.
Tommy Bartlett Exploratory
Water shows and a museum dedicated to giving you the experience to feel and experience a Russian space Station. We visited her once but it's a little overrated. I wouldn't go back again.

Restaurants

Buffalo Phil's Pizza & Grille
Buffalo Bills is the best if you're looking for a great hot ribs with french fries and pulled pork sandwiches and their train set up in the restaurant makes it a great place to bring the kids! My kids thought this place was great!

Special activities

Tug's Kitchen At Showboat Saloon
The Showboat Saloon sponsors famous music artists to go play outside on their property during the summer time and the concerts are all free of charge. I think they do it to bring in business. It's a really small area and it gets really crowded from what I seen. Great place for adults to hang out but not for kids. Beer and hard liquor prices were reasonable, but I'm not sure if I would ever go inside this place again unless I needed something to refill my cup or to use the restroom. I'd probably give it a 2 star rating on my richter scale.
Ripley's Believe It Or Not
One of Wisconsin Dells most famous museums dedicated to Believe it or not! Easy to get to. Buy the Downtown Discovery Pass. The tickets include 1 admission ticket to Ripley's Believer it or not, 1 ticket to Wizard Quest plus 1 mini bag of free popcorn. You can only purchase this ticket online. This is the most flexible and cost efficient.
