The Bixby Bridge is an iconic landmark that soars above the landscape along the California coast with the rugged and jagged shoreline below. The backdrop of the blues of the ocean make for an amazing and picturesque and awe inspiring viewpoint. When you visit, be sure to stop at all the pull offs you can as each one has a different landscape in both directions. The history of the bridge is interesting in that it was completed in 1932 for the small price of $200,000! It was built as one of 32 bridges between 1920 and 1940 to connect the San Simeon area to Carmel. It's a beautiful site with a neat history.
