Brandywine Falls

Squamish, BC, Canada
9 Kudos
Flag
British Colombia, Canada is full of many spectacular waterfalls. One of them is Brandywine Falls. Often overlooked due to the much taller and more-visited Shannon Falls down the road, this falls deserves a stop, too. The ~1/2 km trail leads from the parking area to the base of the falls, leading through a very peaceful and serene forest (that is if no train comes chargin' by...you'll cross train tracks while on the trail!) which takes about 10 minutes. The falls itself plunge over a carved out cliff-lined hole into a gorge below. There is a viewing platform at the base of the falls. The views from here are amazing of the falls and the scenery in the distance. You can also continue on further down the trail to the bottom of the falls, but we didn't have the time to do this. Heard that it can be quite treacherous and is not recommended. Do at your own risk!
