Once a year, usually during the month of May, Jews celebrate a fairly minor holiday called Lag Bomer. During this ritual you gather with your friends and family and light bonfires. The custom is to sit around the bonfire and chat, sing the holiday's songs, and what the children wait for the most is to bake potatoes in the bonfire. We happened to visit Israel during Lag Baomer and had a great time in El'ad visiting our friends and celebrating the Lag Baomer holiday at the same time. The weather was fairly cold during the evening hours and sitting around the bonfire was a pleasure.
