New Shoreham, RI, United States
17 Kudos
Located just off of the mainland of Rhode Island is an actual island called Block Island, it is known for its sandy beaches include popular the Crescent Beach. To get to Block Island, one must go to Newport, RI and take the hour long ferry ride from there. There are high speed passenger ferry, as well as car ferry which is what we did so we can driver around the island. There are probably other ferry service as well but since we were in Rhode Island, this was the closest port. The beach was beautiful and it was a very popular spot for sail boats.
