One of the best things about birding is that the friends I have made have led me to tons of new hiking trails I likely would have never exploded. I recently met up with a few people to hike to a beautiful pond known for being a bird Haven. It was a crisp, cool day and we had a lovely time getting out idea. There were a number rof trails but we started on the Beaver Pond Trail and we're rewarded with a view of two hooded mergansers and a great blue heron. It was really nice to get outside with some experienced birders and well worth the drive to meet up.
