The Belmar boardwalk isn't your typical boardwalk like in Wildwood, NJ. Here the boardwalk does not have any shops located right on it. The boardwalk itself is constructed of man-made material like treks. It is kept pretty clean with plenty of garbage pails all around. New Jersey is famous for having paid access to the beaches. You are required to pay for a beach badge which will run you about $9. The beach itself is pretty clean and they now no longer allow smoking which I like. I can't stand the smell of someone smoking cigarettes or a cigar. I've been to better beaches in Maryland. They do have some fun festival throughout the year. I enjoy the seafood festival held during the summers.
