Beauty of Flaming Gorge, Utah

Red Canyon, UT, United States
15 Kudos
Along the north east border between Utah and Wyoming is a hidden gem called Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. During a road trip out west, I was headed south from Grand Teton National Park and decided to spend a night. The gorge was created over thousands of years by the Green River. In 1964, the Flaming Gorge Dam was built to create the reservoir which exists today. The area is know for great fishing. The red rocks exposed in the gorge make for absolutely beautiful scenery. The other great this is that the gorge is not heavily visited and is a great place to enjoy nature in peace & quiet.
