I drove a leisurely 3.5 hours starting before sunrise to get to this majestic place. By the time I reached the entrance, the sun had risen and I began the walk through the Kasha-Katuwe national rock monument. There are areas of skinny passages and ending with a short distance of steep incline. The end result was absolutely breathtaking. Imagine looking over untouched land and rock formations withered only by wind and rain. The greenery was unlike what I was used to in the rainy PNW. Cacti accompanied me along my hike and the flowers were starting to bloom. This is a great place to visit in Albuquerque without any crowds.
