So my trip through Singapore did happen to land on St. Patty's Day. Although my original plan, as a backpacker on a backpacker budget, was to only splurge on alcohol to have a Singapore sling in Singapore, I felt the need for a Guinness. Following the expats and fellow foreigners, I discovered club street. The area has a very good atmosphere and nightlife feel but it is difficult not to look at the restaurants and kind of get the impression of Disneyworld. What I mean, is that it seems to be a line of chain or franchise restaurants, and if they aren't then they still all seem incredibly similar and incredibly different to what you find on any other street in the city. Proceed informed.
