Autumn in the Smokies

Gatlinburg, TN, United States
6 Kudos
The Smokies in the fall is a beautiful time of year - the colors are breathtaking. There is, of course, all the fun family activities in the surrounding Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge communities. But, our favorite thing to do is driving and hiking in the Smoky Mountains and beyond. The Great Smoky National Park is free to enter with easy driving and bountiful hiking for anyone from novice to the expert backpacker. Don't be afraid to continue traveling outside of the park, especially along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Here you'll find some of the most beautiful scenery and easy driving with ample opportunities to stop for a photo. Grandfather Mountain and Chimney Rock are always a must see for us outside of the park. If your budget allows, splurge on one of the many luxury cabins with hot tub to unwind after a long day of driving and hiking.
