What you see in the picture is part of the Austria Brunnen that was erected for the people of Vienna in 1846. Unfortunately, the upper part is missing in the picture, it would show a statue of Austria proudly wearing a shield with the imperial double-headed eagle and a spear in the other hand. What you can see however, are three of the four river deities, one of them being a male. They represent the main rivers of the monarchy: Elbe, Vistula, Danube and Po. The fountain is quite an oppulent site, lots of details to look at and it fits perfectly into its environment of historic houses.
