Atlas for a Berber immersion

Ouarzazate, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco
16 Kudos
After a good breakfast, our trip to the Atlas could finally begin! We climbed into our 4x4 and took the road to Ouarzazate, our final destination. But before arriving at Ouarzazate, the road was punctuated with stages allowing us to discover the Berber culture. Leaving Marrakech, we crossed the arid plains and palm groves located around the red city; fields and villages follow one another along the road. Our journey took us to Demnate, city of the High Atlas. As we approached Demnate, the landscapes were transformed, the road became more winding, the vegetation was denser and greener. Demnate means besides "fertile lands" in Amazigh: almond trees, olive trees and other cultures make the wealth of the city and have forged its reputation.
