Sometimes when I'm going to a destination, I take for granted the journey getting there or going back. Such is the case of the oft overlooked San Joaquin Valley on your way out of Kings Canyon National Park. I was so tired and wowed by the big trees that, as I drove down to Visalia, I was amazed by the beauty of the valley with the grasses, the fields with the cows, and the flowers alongside the road, that all made such a pretty picture I had to stop and take some pictures. There isn't much in this area to stop and see but just the scenery makes it special. So even if we didn't go into the National Park, the drive would have made it worth it.
