Between the Badwater Basin and Furnace Creek in the Death Valley National Park, there is a road named Artist's Drive which is one of the drives not to miss in the park. It is a short detour from the main road going through fascinatingly colored mountains. Driving on the Artist's Drive itself gives you different views of the wonderful Death Valley geological wonderland and when you get to the Artist's Palette, you can see brilliantly varying rock colors on the mountain. The colors from yellow, blue, purple and red and pastel tone colors in between. It is similar to what you can see in the Badlands National Park, but in a smaller scale. There seem to be a trail that you can go into the Artist's Palette, but we stopped by and enjoyed the views and moved on.
