My husband and I went to Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia for a long weekend. I flew into Charleston and we toured around there for the day. One of our stops was to visit Angel Oak Tree. The tree is estimated to be 400-500 years old and is thought to be one of the oldest oak trees in the country. It really was tremendous to see it measuring over 187' from the tip to its longest branch; it stands 66.5' tall and it's circumference is 28'. It produces over 17,200 square feet of shade. It's free to visit and you must make sure you don't stand, walk, sit, or lean against any of the long fragile branches as we need to protect it so others may enjoy its beauty for years to come.
Meeting at Market
We stopped for a great lunch at Meeting at Market. Great sports bar atmosphere with lots of TVs to get caught up on your favorite team.
