Acropolis, Athens Greece

Athens, Greece
21 Kudos
I just got back from a week long trip to Athens, Greece. I was worried that it was going to be cold as we went in the beginning of March. Fortunately, we had great spring weather! Our first full day, we took the metro to the Acropolis. The stop on the metro was called Akropoli (which is appropriate), and the Acropolis was only a short walk from the station. A tip is to buy the 5 day transport pass which gives you unlimited access to the metro, busses, and trams for 5 days for only 9 Euro! We also chose the 5 day attraction pass which gives you access to many of the historic sites for around 30 Euro. We definitely made use of that. Anyway, we slowly climbed to the top of the Acropolis and slopes. At the top was the AMAZING Parthenon. Make sure you go to the back where the flag pole is, and you will be rewarded with awesome views of the city.

Those are some great tips. I usually try to find the least expensive public transportation deals (ie multi day passes). And I like the multi day attraction pass. Greece is still on my bucket list along with a lot of other places. Heading to Asia next February for some land sight seeing before and after our 9 day cruise from Hong Kong (Okinawa, 3 stops in the Philippines and ends in Singapore).

You should definitely go to greece! Its relatively inexpensive compared to the countries in Europe. I'm also planning a 2 month trip to south east asia in the summer of 2020. I will be looking forward to your Philippines and Singapore posts! Thanks for reading!
