Ogimachi is the main village in the picturesque Shogawa River Valley. We heard that the other villages in the area were also very beautiful but unfortunately we were running out of time to see them all. It would have meant to take another bus but we had to return to Takayama on the same day. If we would have known in advance, we would have stayed overnight in one of the small places that offer accommodation. But as always, you can't do everything at once. At least we were able to walk around Ogimachi and got a fair understanding what these farmhouses were about. We also got to stop at a little restaurant that served excellent food. It was a wonderful day, we can highly recommend a trip to at least one of the villages.
