A town that is just pure history

Where can one find an island, with a medieval town? We found it on a day trip out of Split, Croatia. The island town is called Trogir and it is a lovely, well preserved, special town well worth a visit. The town can actually trace its history back to the 3rd century BC. There is a lot of Romanesque-Gothic style architecture, originals, and walking around one feels transported back in time. It is small, with only a population a little over 10,000 but with the tourists (and tourism is the main industry here) it feels definitely a Lot more than that! Just take time though and really enjoy it.
