One of the highlights of visiting Rome is heading over to Vatican City, and seeing the Vatican Museum. Now, I have been in plenty of museums, but this one really is so much more. First of all, you want to make sure you purchase your tickets in advance, or you will be in a very long line to get in (see the line in my photo above, it wraps all around the walls!). You have a certain time then to enter and it is pretty organized. You end up in an outside courtyard, which is so beautiful, then walk into the Museum itself, which is room after room, corridor after corridor, ceilings and floors full of artwork. Everywhere you look is something impressive. You would really need quite a bit of time to go through this wonderful building but I only had about three hours. I would definitely consider going back if I ever get the chance.
