A good word. Of all the little shrines and gompas and collections of good will that we found along the trail. One of my favorite send-offs was to walk past one of these clusters of engraved stones. Some tiny, that could fit into the palm of your hand, and some giant, that would take two capable men to move, were stacked chaotically alon the trail sometimes. On each was a symbol or a string of writing, usually in Hindi, with favorite scriptures, benedictions, or just prayers for good luck and good health. Either way, the sentiment was felt and appreciated on the trail.
