I think that this deer must have escaped from jail. In front of the historic Llano County Jail in Llano Texas, stands a statue of a whitetail deer wearing a striped jail uniform. The jail itself is no longer used and is a historic building in town. This whitetail buck sports a tattoo in addition to his prison clothes.
The whitetail deer is a popular symbol of Llano County. Thus, perhaps I should not have been surprised to find this rather amusing statue in front of the jail. This is just good classic public art.
You can find this statue one block east of Highway 16 on the south side of the Llano River.
