A boat of concrete.

China has a long history – and filled with characters, drama, and intrigue (like most other countries). Our visit to the country lasted about three weeks, and in that time we were run ragged – thankfully, we were with a large group traveling by bus and could sleep between stops. However, each day would bring more and different amazing sights and experiences. The Marble Boat seen here was built by the Dowager Empress – floats on pylons and created a bit of a stir as the monies used were earmarked for the royal navy. Located at the Summer Palace, it alone was a different way of thinking about summer sailing vessels.
