Typically, the words, “spacious” and “stateroom” do not belong next to each other. To the extent that they do, it usually means someone paid a big premium for that room. Well I’m here to tell you that you can have room to spread out and not break the bank on Carnival’s Fantasy Class ships. The trick is to shoot for a porthole room, with room R4 or R3 being the most spacious. For this room, I did not have to pay more than five bucks per day above the cheapest interior room rate. I’m sure this varies from cruise to cruise. While spacious, note that this is at the very front of the ship and on the lowest passenger deck, so you feel the motion of the ocean more here than most anywhere else. But if that doesn’t bother you, then this is great!
