A One of a Kind Clock Tower. As usual, heading in to town on the train, we were sitting and reading last minute about the city we were about to discover. Mysore, and its many small sights and laid back tourism was a relaxing change from the long, long, long hikes of Hampi. On our way from the train station, we took a detour to go and see the city clock tower, and, quite wonderfully, this is what we found. I was expecting the usual brick or stone corner of a building, church, or town hall raised up with the four clock sides that I have grown used to hopping from place to place. But this was more like a pagoda or gazebo made into an elaborate clock tower presiding over the market place.
