In Minnesota, winter can last well into March. Several years ago, while I was a student at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, I needed to make a business trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota (which is practically on the Minnesota - South Dakota State Line). This trip occurred during Spring Break. Although the weather was starting to warm up in Kansas, winter was still not quite ready to give up its grip on Minnesota.
During some time off, I ventured across the state line into Minnesota. I found this beautiful pond at Pipestone National Monument. The leftover snow made for a most lovely scene. The Sioux Quartzite boulder added a nice touch as well. Please enjoy this tranquil late Winter scene from Southwestern Minnesota.
