Amsterdam was a port stop for a European cruise we went on. Because of that, we only had a day there and we wanted to make the most of it! The first thing we did was visit the Anne Frank House. Note that you must reserve your tickets in advance. We booked ours about 2 months in advance. We saw many people trying to get tickets that day and they were turned away, very disappointed. We loved this tour and even our 6 year old was very interested. It was neat to see the actual house that we had read about. After the tour, we did a canal cruise. This was fun because we saw Amsterdam from a different angle. We didn't have to reserve this in advance. The guide tells you about many different historical and currently operating sites. We also took time to walk the streets and squares. We stopped at magnificent churches. The only thing we didn't have time to do was visit windmills. Maybe next time!
