Solvang is a charming Californian town slightly inland from the Pacific coast near Santa Barbara. This town is only within 30 or so miles from Santa Barbara. What makes Solvang unique is it's Danish heritage. The town was established a bit more than 100 years ago by the Danish migrants from the east. Just like its unique town name, because of its strong Danish heritage, the town is like little Denmark. Such Danish heritage is everywhere in this town from building architecture to Danish statues to Danish foods. One of the interesting landmarks in this Danish town is s tone that says 11,270 km to Copenhagen. Perhaps early settlers always dreamed home far away and tried to replicate small Danish town in California.
