Once in a Lifetime Honeymoon in Kenya, Rwanda, and Seychelles!
My wife and I took a two week honeymoon in July 2017 to Kenya, Rwanda, and the Seychelles! We started by spending 3 and a half days in Kenya. We walked 10 miles around Narobi then set off to Maasi Mara National Reserve for a 3 day safari. We witnessed first hand the beauty of the Great Migration. There were wildebeest for as far as the eye could see. We also visited the Maasi village and spent time with the locals. They performed a traditional dance and explained their culture to us. After Kenya, we traveled to Rwanda for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Spending an hour with the gorillas was easily the highlight of the trip. Such majestic creatures. We also went on a golden monkey trek, hiked to see Dian Fossey's tomb, and spent time with the locals touring their village. We ended our time in Rwanda on a somber note visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. It's a truly moving experience that cannot be summed up in mere words. Anyone that visits Rwanda, must stop by the memorial centre to hear the stories of those who survived and pay their respects to those who perished. After leaving Rwanda, we traveled to the Seychelles where we would spend the next week island hoping, scuba diving, snorkeling, relaxing, and even getting in a game of beach soccer with the locals! This trip turned out to be truly a once in a lifetime experience and one that will always rank as one of the greatest experiences of our lives!
