Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival - China
I had run across some photos of an ice city a few years back and had floated the idea that I would go there for a upcoming milestone birthday. As life goes, I'd forgotten about it until a friend reached out to me and asked if I was still going. I'm so glad she did - we flew in from different cities and met in Beijing, then travelled on to Harbin for the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival. It was amazing in scale and workmanship. Because Harbin is near the Russian border, it was an interesting mix of Chinese and Russian architecture and food. We wrapped up the trip with a few days in Hong Kong.
