Delivering food in South Africa

In February and March of 2017, my wife and I volunteered at a jobs skills training center in Richmond, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, about 100 kilometers west of Durban.  While my wife taught Zulu women to sew and basic healthcare, I would go out into fields that have been harvested and glean any vegetables left.  We would then take these to various places, sometimes up into the mountains on slick dirt roads.  This picture is at a school up in the mountains in Hella Hella.  The food we distributed is a major part of the kids nutrition, and I'm thankful to have been a part of helping them have something to eat.  We established very close ties with a lot of the people there; so much so that we will be going back in August-September of this year (2018)20170210_092747.jpg
