Banff National Park - The Perks of Traveling off the Beaten Path
You really do have to venture off the beaten path to get the most beautiful views. My friends and I were incredibly lucky when we bumped into a photographer who told us to take the trail past the conventional Peyto Lake lookout for the best viewpoint. We walked carefully at the edge of a mountain, stepping over mud, rocks, and protruding roots until we were confronted by one of the most surreal lakes I have ever seen. I remember closing my eyes and opening them again, in disbelief that I was looking at water that was the color of blue milk.
There was not a single other person in sight, leaving us completely at one with our surroundings.
