Who doesn't love snorkeling? Admittedly, this was the first time I had ever really gone snorkeling, and Akumal didn't disappoint! We came face to face with sea turtles in Akumal Bay. Following that up with some delicious snacks and an afternoon at the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary (story to come later) it made for the perfect day. If you're going to Mexico, you definitely have to stop by Akumal. If snorkeling isn't your thing, lounge on the pristine beaches. And if that doesn't help, I don't know why you're in Mexico! Between the beautiful weather, the great snorkeling, and the gorgeous beaches, we loved Akumal.

It doesn't get better than snorkeling face to face with turtles in crystal clear water!
Restaurants
La Buena Vida
Great food and great service! Any restaurant that let's you eat with the sand in your toes is a good spot in my book. Though they don't let kids in the treehouse tables, the treehouses are very cool!
Turtle Bay Cafe & Bakery
Wifi is fantastic! We happened to stop here after snorkeling with the turtles for some snacks and to check in with the world with some internet. Pictured are the chilquiles
Special activities
Cenote Manatí
We also did some snorkeling (and a lot of floating) at Cenote Manati!
