Seeing sunshine in February after leaving snowy Syracuse was such a delight. I booked a last minute trip to fly down and stay for 5 days. All I wanted to do was soak up the sun and swim. I've never been to Fort Lauderdale before, but I found it very easy to get to places. I traveled alone, always felt safe, and enjoyed walking to places nearby. I walked the beach every morning with a cup of coffee in hand, laid out at the hotel's pool, swam, and just wished I lived there. Unfortunately, I had to return home and was greeted by a massive snow storm a week later. Ugh! I can hear Fort Lauderdale calling my name...

B Ocean Fort Lauderdale
This was an excellent location right on the beach. The hotel had many amenities including a bar, a restaurant, a deli, and a store. My room was very large, clean, and modern. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Restaurants
Kelly's Landing New England Seafood
The lobster rangoon were delicious! This is a great little restaurant with outdoor seating also.
Bahia Cabana Restaurant & Bar
I had the best bbq ribs and potato salad here. I sat on the deck overlooking the water and watched the boats come and go. The wait staff were terrific. I would definitely go again.
Shopping
Sawgrass Mills Mall
After an afternoon of sun and swimming, I headed out to this outlet center. It was huge with so many stores I don't have anywhere near me at home. Too bad I had to limit what I bought because of my carry-on luggage.
East Las Olas Boulevard
There are plenty of places to shop and eat along this street. There are also historical sites and museums.
Hello Gorgeous!
This is a small women's boutique with clothes I would not typically find in Syracuse. I did spend a small fortune. Luckily, I left room in my suitcase!
