When visiting the Magic Kingdom theme park in Walt Disney World, there is way more to do than can be done in a single day. Here are a few of my tips to maximize your time.

Do your research to understand your priorities. You won't be able to do it all, so you need to figure out your must do rides and shows so that you can prioritize them.

Get there before the park opens. This is HUGE. I don't like waking up early on vacation, but I hate waiting in lines and wasting my day. Getting up early will allow you to hit those things with long lines early in the day.

Figure out where the long lines are. There are websites dedicated to helping you come up with the best plan for touring the parks so that you aren't spending your day waiting in line.

Take breaks. It may seem counter intuitive, but you will drag if you don't take breaks and stay well hydrated. You may even consider going back to the hotel for a nap during the hottest part of the day.

With these tips, you will drastically improve your day over the average at the Magic Kingdom or any of the Disney Parks.

Hotels
Disney's Contemporary Resort
A great place for a break just a monorail ride away.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Take a monorail ride to Disney's flagship to get out of the sun.
Points of interest
Fantasyland
If you have a young kid and Fantasyland is a priority, hit it first thing in the morning. It gets mobbed.
The Hall of Presidents
A nice air conditioned break for the middle of your day.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Another one of the big mountains in the park that will get a big line.
Space Mountain
Classic Disney ride that you may want to get to before crowds get too big.
Tomorrowland Speedway
One of the slowest moving lines in the entire park.
Peter Pan's Flight
It may not seem like it, but this can be a slow line for a fun ride. Get there early.
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
Never a long line for this Disney classic. Save it for the crowded times.
Splash Mountain
One of the rides you will want to make sure you fast pass or line up early for. Best ridden when it is hot.
