LIC What's there to do
Our family loves visiting Long Island City, especially on the weekends. The playgrounds are not too crowded, although the lack of trees can make it a bit harsh during the hot summer days. Our favorite playgrounds are the ones located in Gantry State Park....
Our family loves visiting Long Island City, especially on the weekends. The playgrounds are not too crowded, although the lack of trees can make it a bit harsh during the hot summer days. Our favorite playgrounds are the ones located in Gantry State Park. There is even a nice sand pit where the kids can play in the sand for hours on end. Long Island City is only 5-10 minutes from midtown and has lots of good eateries -- from nice bakeries to yummy ramen places. You can also take the ferry from Long Island City to different parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan -- not too expensive and a fun boat ride for the kids.
