I am heading to Italy in two weeks with 11 people from my extended family. We are going to Rome, Sorrento, and Florence. My question to the group is in reference to Sorrento. We are trying to plan what to do. We have one day that is completely free. I have heard some really good things about Capri and others have said not to bother going.
Do people recommend going to Capri? Has anyone been to Positano? If you have a choice of going to either place which one would you choose?
Thank you for any responses.
Well that's a tough decision right there - the Amalfi Coast just has so many great spots. Personally I'd say the difference between Capri and Positano is quite big. The later is a beautifully situated laid back small town. It has small shops, but it's not really a mecca for shopping for thoes that seek just that. It's a great place to experience, have a meal or cappuchino but for a larger group I may think Capri has more to offer and to venture out. I enjoyed them both and don't think you can make a mistake here.
